School-Based Trainee- Certificate III in Children's Services

School Based Traineeships are available through the AIECS. No cost is incurred to the Trainee, however fees are payable by the employer. However, students should contact the institute regarding availability under the User Choice School based training program, where no cost is incurred to either parties and the course is funded through the Queensand's Department of Employment, Training and the Arts. This qualification provides an educational program focusing on the knowledge, attitudes and skills required by a person working with children and their families.

Advanced Diploma of Children's Services

Students can complete this Qualification either Part-time of Full-time by correspondence using either paper based training materials and/or the online student training centre facilities.

This Qualification provides an educational program focusing on the knowledge, attitudes and skills required by a person working with children and their families.

 Career opportunities
This qualification covers those workers who may operate at an advanced skills level to:

  • Provide specialist services
  • Act as a resource for other workers
  • Provide practice supervision of staff including volunteers
  • Work intensively with clients
  • Work with clients with complex needs

Examples of which includes:

  • Outside School Hours care coordinator
  • Family Day Care provider/coordinator
  • Long Day Care Assistant Director
  • Long Day Care Director
  • Long Day Care regional manager

Further Studies

On successful completion of this Qualification students may choose to progress and recieve credits towards many Higher Educational teaching degrees.
